Hi, I’m Kris. I’m 24 and live in Sydney. I had always been chubby from childhood. I was never athletic, and though I enjoyed some sports in primary, by high school I was actively avoiding exercise wherever I could. After school, that turned into a sedentary lifestyle and some serious weight gain.
In May 2008, I decided I didn’t want to be fat and unfit anymore. Again. But somehow, some things clicked into place this time, and 12 months later I was 18kg lighter, had taken up running and swimming for the first time in my life, and had completed 4 running races and 3 triathlons!! Eating right is still an everyday battle (especially against the Chocolate Monster!) and naturally there are days when I’d much rather sit around on the net rather than exercise. But such is life. I know I will never go back to the unhappy person I was before.
Now I’ve gone back to tertiary study to become a nutritionist, and am training for several running races this coming year. I also have a bunch of other interests & hobbies to take up my time, and will be posting both training updates and random thoughts & rants. Hope to see you around!
